This is another recent addition to the fleet and has been bought with the sole purpose of transporting heavier vehicles such as large vans and 4×4s whilst staying within the law and current VOSA regulations.

You may not be aware but any vehicle weighing over 1600kgs cannot legally be carried on a 3.5T transporter because the trucks unladen weight will exceed 1900kgs thus taking the total payload beyond the 3.5T limit. There are some serious implications to this. First of all, if there is an accident your vehicle would not be insured. Regardless of what the operator might say, the transporter will be overloaded and as such invalidate any insurance cover. Secondly, if the transporter was to be pulled over by VOSA and found to be overweight, if you were lucky they would simply make the driver unload your vehicle and he would have to leave it at the side of the road to be recovered later (probably by you!). The current trend though by VOSA is to impound both vehicles and have them recovered to a police compound where you would firstly have to prove ownership then you will have to pay to have it released back to you!!. So think very hard before you have your vehicle transported cheaply on a 3.5T truck as it may cost you a lot of time and money in the long run.

 None of these issues are a problem on this transporter as it has a huge payload of over 3.7T is ’O’ licenced and fitted with a tacho to fully comply with all VOSA requirements.

This of course costs more to run than a 3.5T truck and as such the delivery/collection cost will be slightly higher than on one of our own 3.5T transporters, but if you have a vehicle that weighs over 1600kgs and you want it either collected or delivered safely, fully insured and within the law then ask that it is moved on this 7.5T single transporter.
